1. Court To Rule On Buhari’s Refusal To Handover To Osinbajo During UK Trip

Justice A. O. Faji of the Federal High Court, sitting in Lagos will on Friday deliver judgement in the suit against President Muhammadu Buhari on the legality of his refusal to hand over power to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, during his private visit to the United Kingdom in 2019.

Recall that President Buhari had travelled out of the country on April 24, 2019, on a private visit to the UK.

2. Electricity Workers Set To Embark On Nationwide Strike

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have given a 14-day ultimatum to the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to implement the agreement they signed or they will embark on strike.

The electricity workers made this known to newsmen on Wednesday through their General Secretary, Mr Joe Ajaero, Naija News reports.

3. Court Orders Ex-Petroleum Minister Dan Etete’s Arrest

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has ordered the arrest of Dan Etete, a former Minister of Petroleum.

Naija News reports that Justice Idris Kutigi of the High Court ordered Etete’s arrest on Thursday, January 30 over his involvement in the Malabu Oil scam.

4. Buhari, Jonathan Meet Behind Closed Door In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari has held a closed-door meeting with Nigerian’s Former President, Goodluck Jonathan.

Naija News Understands that the former Governor of Bayelsa state arrived the Villa at about 1:45 pm and was ushered into the President’s office where he stayed for some five minutes.

5. Amidst Calls For Buhari’s Resignation, APC Identifies Those Trying To ‘Overthrow’ The President

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are plotting to overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The allegation was laid by the APC Local Government Chairmen on Thursday who said the PDP is trying to manipulate the National Assembly to impeach Buhari from office.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday morning presided over the national security council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
