Police Arrest 50 Suspected Cultists In Delta

Delta State Police Command has announced that its operatives have arrested some cultists who are said to be responsible for always causing chaos in the state.

Naija News understands that the group have been labelled for causing several fights with other confraternities, leading to robberies, killing lives and causing pandemonium in the community.

The police reported that no less than 50 of the suspected cultists have been arrested by a team of Operation Safe Delta,’ in Udu council area of Delta state and that all have been apprehended on Thursday.

Confirming the report, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, told newsmen on the phone that they made the arrests in other to put a stop continuous cult rivalry in the locality.

He further reveals that the suspects were nabbed at different brothels and hideouts across the local government area.

He said, “They were actually arrested because of the cult crisis going on. I felt I should send a team to go and bring the menace down and deal with the problem of cultism.

“We are not going to relent. We will continue our war against these cultists because of a situation whereby they take delight in injuring themselves, to the extent of even waging war against themselves, killing themselves, I will not tolerate that.”
