Senate Minority Leader, Abaribe Calls For President Buhari’s Resignation

The Minority leader in the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, on Wednesday, called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senator representing Abia-South Senatorial District of Abia State claimed that the Buhari-led administration and the All Progressives Congress has failed Nigerians.

The lawmaker while contributing to the motion sponsored by the Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi on national security said, President Buhari, has been lying to Nigerians that Boko Haram has been defeated.

What Buhari Must Do To Service Chiefs – Senate

The Nigeria Senate has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to replace his Service Chiefs as the country continues to face problems of insecurity.

The upper legislative chambers made the call in a statement after plenary on Wednesday.

In the statement released to newsmen, senators claimed that the service chiefs have run out of ideas to stop killings across Nigeria. The lawmakers also called for the introduction of Community and State Policing to curb insecurity.

Lalong Orders Arrest Of Fulani Leaders In Plateau State

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has ordered the arrest of Fulani leaders and community heads as a results of bandit attacks and killings in some communities.

Giving the new directive to the commissioner of Police in the State while appraising the security situation, Lalong said the state government can no longer fold its arm and watch citizens die in the hands of their fellow citizens.

Just In: Popular Balogun Market On Fire (Video)

Some buildings in the popular Balogun market in Lagos Island is currently on fire, Naija News reports.

It was gathered that the fire started from Anambra Plaza at Martins area of the market. Naija News understands that the fire have spread to about five structures and firefighters are currently battling it.

Finally, Allowance Of NYSC Members Increased – See Amount And Start Date For Payment

The monthly allowance for corps members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been increased to N33,000.

The increase was confirmed by Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) during a working visit to the NYSC secretariat in Bauchi.
