The Nigerian Air Force has in its readiness to fight terrorism in the Nothern part of the country disclosed that some fighting jets will be deployed to the areas where security challenges are been faced daily.

On Monday, during a visit by Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari to the Nigerian Airforce headquarters in Abuja, the governor was briefed by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar about NAF intention to intensify fight against terrorists in the region.

The Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, was quoted on Tuesday to say that “infrastructure has been put in place at Daura in Katsina State and Gusau in Zamfara State to cater for the additional personnel and air assets that will be deployed to aid the fight against terrorists and bandits, among others.”

He added that “A helipad had been constructed at Birnin Magaji in Zamfara State, while the refuelling facilities in Gusau had been expanded to further facilitate the effective and efficient conduct of air operations.”

Reacting to the development, Governor Masari said: “The state government’s ban on the use of motorcycles from dusk to dawn had had a positive impact on the security situation in the state.”

Naija News recalls that an order was issued by the Katsina state government to halt the use of tricycles and motorcycles in the state within stipulated hours in a day.

A development that came after Katsina State government announced that it will abscond the large population of Almajiri children off the streets by halting the system and thereby blend it into Koranic and western education

The state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, who made this known in a media chat with reporters at the Government House, maintained that the state government was liaising with the Universal Basic Education (UBEC) and the Federal Ministry of Education on how to take the children out of the street, by also incorporating the school feeding programme under the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme.
