Kaduna State Government under the administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai has made provision for a secluded environment where sellers and buyers of the combustible item can do their transactions, to avoid the further threat of explosion in the state.

The development was announced by the General Manager of the Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority (KEPA), Lawal Jibrin, who noted on Tuesday that the state government has made provision for four places in the state where sellers of gas can do their daily business transactions.

Jubrin said that governor Nasir El-Rufai had approved the four locations for gas plant operators and retailers to carry out their businesses.

Naija News understands that more than 100 gas retail outlets have reportedly been shut down in Kaduna State by the governor El-Rufai’s administration.

It could be recalled that a gas explosion rocked the Sabon-Tasha area metropolis on January 4, 2020.

An incident that killed six people, including the Chairman of Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Prof. Simon Mallam.

Speaking further on the new allocated site for the gas business, Jibrin said that four industrial areas have been approved by the state government which include; Kaduna-Zaria Expressway, Ungwar Muazu, Kakuri Industrial Area and the KRPC Junction, Kaduna.

He said, “We will take necessary regulatory measures to ensure that only licensed operators dispense the commodity to consumers to ensure safe handling.”
