Security has been beefed up in Imo State ahead of the rerun election in Okigwe North, Orlu Federal Constituency and Njaba State Assembly.

The development was revealed by the State Police Command, the security agency assured that it’s prepared for the Saturday election in the state.

The Commission of Police in the state, Mobolaji Olaniti Fafowora, during a press briefing on Thursday revealed that the command will work with other security agencies to ensure smooth electoral process.

The Imo State CP stated this while parading more than twenty-nine suspects at the command’s headquarters in Owerri.

He advised hoodlums to have a rescind on their mission as there won’t be room for ballot snatchers during the election.

Fafowore noted that the suspects that were paraded at the command were involved in various crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, stealing etc.

The CP added that after an investigation into the offence, those found wanting would be charged to court.

The Police commissioner called on all Imo citizens to assist the police in the business of security, describing it as everybody’s business.
