1. Tinubu Finally Breaks Silence On Amotekun

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has finally broken his silence on the establishment of Operation Amotekun.

It will be recalled that Amotekun is the code name given to the security outfit set up by governors of the South-West zone to combat security challenges in the region.

2. Biafra: ‘Let Us Go’ – Onyeka Onwenu Begs Buhari Govt

Legendary Nigerian songwriter and singer, Onyeka Onwenu, has asked the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari to “let Igbos go” if Nigeria does not want them.

Naija News reports that the Nigerian legendary singer made this statement at a conference tagged: “Never Again Conference: Nigerian Civil War 50 Years After” in commemoration with the Biafra War 50th Anniversary.

3. Nigeria, 5 Other Countries Reject New Eco Common Currency

Finance Ministers and central bank governors of five English-speaking countries of West Africa and Nigeria meeting in Abuja on Thursday rejected the new common currency of the Cedeao space advocated by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara on December 21.

They are the finance ministers of Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Liberia and The Gambia.

4. PDP Chairman, Others Defects To APC In Kano State

Reports reaching Naija News at this time disclosed that a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano state has defected to the All Progressive Congress.

This is coming barely two days after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s victory in as declared by the Court on Monday.

5. SARS Operatives Kill Boko Haram Terrorists, Recover Weapons

An ambush by Boko Haram terrorists was on Tuesday successfully prevented by gallant officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Borno State.

The terrorists had planned an attack on Mainok Village, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road but met stiff resistance from SARS personnel resulting in the exchange of gunfire.

6. Bishop Wale-Oke Speaks On Operation Amotekun

The National Deputy President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, has called on the Southwest Governors to legalise Operation Amotekun.

The plea was revealed in a statement released by the Bishop’s media office, Kayode Oladeji, on Wednesday in Ibadan.

7. Atiku Reacts To Killing Of CAN Chairman By Boko Haram In His Home State Of Adamawa

Former Vice President of Nigeria and 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the killing of a CAN official by Boko Haram terrorists.

It will be recalled as earlier reported by Naija News that the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Revd. Lawan Andimi was beheaded by the insurgents on Monday.

8. Ali Directs Custom Officers To Declare Assets Annually

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, has given a direct order to all officers of the service to henceforth declare their assets every year.

Naija News learnt that Ali gave the order when members of the Board of Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), led by its Chairman, Mohammed Isah, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Tuesday.

9. Fani-Kayode Roasts Tinubu Over Statement On Amotekun

Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, over his statement on the establishment of the Southwest security outfit, Amotekun.

Naija News reports that Bola Tinubu had called for private discussion between South-west governors and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, over Amotekun.

10. Complete List Of 2022 World Cup Qualifiers For Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Cape Verde, the Central African Republic and Liberia in the Group C of the second round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers for Africa.
