Imo: Gov. Uzodinma Set To Coduct Fresh Local Government Election
The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has revealed that a fresh election will be conducted in the state for twenty-seven local government area of the state.
The new governor of the state in his statement said the development is in line with the existing local government laws of Imo.
Uzodinma stated this when he was visited by the chairmen of traditional rulers from the 27 local government areas of the state led by the Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Majesty, Eze Agunwa Ohiri.
The Imo State Governor called on the traditional rulers to ensure they play their role in the state by ensuring peace and tranquillity.
“My policies will meet the yearnings and aspirations of Imo people”.
Ohiri while speaking on behalf of the monarchs said the governor was visited to advise him to be steadfast and take the state to a greater height.
He further stated that leadership comes from God and promised Governor Uzodinma the support of traditional rulers in the state.
Eze Ohiri said “Be confident that Imo is behind you. You should not be afraid.”
“God gives power to whoever he likes.”
