Kano Police Invites American Woman Who Came To Kano To Marry 23-Year-Old Lover

The Kano State Sharia Police known as Hisbah has invited a 46-year-old American woman, Janine Sanchez and her Kano-based lover, Isah Sulaiman who are planning to get married to a meeting at their Office ahead of their wedding.

Isah’s father Sulaiman and his brother attended the meeting which was held behind closed doors.

The intending couple who are preparing to get married in March met about a year ago on Instagram, exchanged pictures and started an online courtship.

Ms Delsky, who lives in California, USA, landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano on Saturday and went straight to meet the parents of her lover.

The outcome of the meeting with the Sharia police has not been disclosed yet, but the intending couple were sighted sitting comfortably while the Hisbah officers familiarize themselves with them.

According to the Delsky, she had dated a lot of people online but she found Mr. Isa to be the most loving and sincere amongst them.

She said they both agreed to get married and fly to the US where they intend to settle.

She said the reason why she followed him to Kano is because of her love for him.

Mr Isa, who has just finished secondary school, said that he is ready to follow his girlfriend to America to settle and build a family.

He expressed optimism that Ms Delsky would one day accept Islam and become a Muslim.
