1. INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Uzodinma

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of Return to Senator Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected Imo State Governor.

The presentation was done on Wednesday after the Supreme Court order on Tuesday which directed the electoral umpire to take the action.

2. No Going Back On Amotekun – Soyinka Tells Federal Government

Professor Wole Soyinka has berated the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria to outlaw the South-Western security outfit codenamed Operation Amotekun.

Soyinka submitted that the Amotekun outfit was set up by the SouthWest governors to tackle cases of insecurity in the region which existing security bodies have been unable to address.

3. Armed Forces Remembrance Day: President Buhari Lays Wreath To Celebrate Fallen Heroes

The celebration of Nigerian fallen heroes in the Nigerian Military held today in grand style as President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today laid wreaths in their honour to mark the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The event which took place in Abuja had dignitaries including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, CJN Tanko Muhammad and others from top government parastatals as well as the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives in attendance.

4. Senator Uzodinma Sworn In As Imo State Governor

Senator Hope Uzodinma has been sworn in as the governor of Imo State following the ousting of former governor Emeka Ihedioha earlier by the Supreme Court.

The Chief Justice of the state, Justice Pascal Nnadi, swore the governor in, alongside his deputy, Professor Placid Njoku.

6. Amotekun: Gani Adams Writes Open Letter To Malami On FG’s Declaration

The Federal Government has been condemned by the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, for declaring the Operation Amotekun illegal.

Recall that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, on Tuesday declared the South-West security outfit illegal.

7. Atiku Finally Breaks Silence On Supreme Court Judgment In Imo State

Former Vice President and 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the Supreme Court judgment on Imo governorship election.

In a personally signed statement on Wednesday made available to our newsroom, Atiku who described the judgment as unexpected and unpalatable however called for an acceptance of the verdict as the apex court’s ruling is final.

8. Hope Uzodinma Freezes Imo Bank Accounts After Supreme Court Judgment

Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor-elect of Imo State, southeast Nigeria, has given an order to all financial institutions where the state funds are maintained not to honour any draft till further notice.

Naija News reports that the order is coming a few hours after that the Supreme Court sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party and declared him the duly elected governor of Imo state.

9. Amotekun: Laws Are Not Made In AGF’s Office – Akeredolu Replies Malami

Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has made some clarification on Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami’s stand on the creation of Operation Amotekun.

In an interview with Channels Tv, Akeredolu said that he is sure of one thing, which is that laws are not made out from the AGF’s desk.

10. Gov. Fayemi Reacts As Federal Government Declares Amotekun Illegal

Governors of the South-West Region in Nigeria are studying the recent pronouncement by the Federal Government which declared Operation Amotekun illegal.

This was revealed by the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday when he was asked by newsmen at a press dinner with the media in the state to react to the decision of the Federal Government to outlaw Operation Amotekun.
