The popular IBB market located in Suleja, a town in Niger State was on Monday evening reportedly attacked by a gang of armed robbers.

The armed robbers arrived in their vehicle a few minutes before 7:00pm and gained access to the market through the back entrance heading straight for a shop that sells mobile phones in the plaza, popularly known as Murada.

It was gathered a stray bullet from the robbers hit one person after they missed their exit and shot into the air, causing a commotion in the market as they escaped from the market.

It was further learnt that the shot victim was taken to the Suleja general hospital for treatment.

A source who spoke to Daily Trust on Tuesday morning said “Nobody was aware of what was taking place inside the shop as they carried out every thing secretly.”

Meanwhile, a member of the Suleja vigilante group narrated that they were yet to resume for night duty when the robbery incident occurred.
