Naija News reports that the heavyweight politicians met at the wedding Fatiha of Mahmud, the son of pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu.

2. Court Rules On Lokpobiri’s Case Against Lyon

The Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has dismissed the case of a former Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri challenging the candidacy of the Bayelsa State Governor-elect, Chief David Lyon. Senator Heineken Lokpobiri had filed a case against Lyon and the APC insisting that he won the governorship primary election of the party in the state.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the suspension the use of the National Identification Number for registration for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday.

Reports that the daughter of the president, Muhammadu Buhari flew in a presidential jet for her private business, has been reacted to by the Presidency today. Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu in a text he sent to newsmen said the criticism that followed the situation was misplaced.

Access Bank Plc has dismissed reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested its group managing director, Herbert Wigwe. Naija News reports some online media had claimed that the Access Bank MD was arrested by the anti-graft agency in connection with the assets of former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, alleged money laundering for former Petroleum Minister, Deziani Allison-Madueke, and alleged inflation of contracts linked to former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, renowned author, scholar and traditional ruler of Ndikelionwu Kingdom. Naija News reports that the writer reportedly died at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, after a brief illness on Thursday.
