Couple, Married For 64 Years, Die Holding Hands Peacefully

A couple who had been married for 64 years, died together while holding hands on 2019 Christmas Eve.

Naija News understands that the couple who did not have any child, Bill and Nancy Schafraths died just three hours apart from each other, as the husband, Bill’s life ended first.

While Bill, aged 88 died around 7am, Nancy aged 85 died at 11am, as both of them held hands even in death.

They both enjoyed playing cards and spending a lot of time outdoors.

Speaking with newsmen, a family member, Pat Cornelius said;

“In the last couple weeks, when he couldn’t get out of bed anymore, we’d push their beds together in the middle of the room. “So they literally held hands for the last week of their life.”

According to the couple’s nephew identified as John Moritz,the couple knew they were going to die together. Moritz said;

“It’s almost like they decided that if one went, the other would go, too. Somehow they knew.”

Cornelius said Bill liked to grow his own tomatoes and liked to cook.

“He was a cook in the Army, and so he did all the cooking for them. And he loved taking care of his beautiful home and garden outside. Everything was meticulous all the time
