Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki who linked current crises rocking APC in the state to some warlords and non-state actors, has again issued an order of prosecution to all corrupt chairmen in Edo.

Obaseki noted that the warlords and non-state actors are controlling resources to the detriment of Edo people. And that his determination to clear the state of thugs milking residents was part of the cause of the crisis in the State.

Speaking in a swearing programme of a new chairman for Esan West local government area, Ruth Osahon, which was held at the government house on Wednesday, Governor Obaseki instructed relevant ministries to commence prosecution of all local government chairmen, relieved them of their offices for embezzling council funds.

Obaseki described the local government as the most urbanised in the state with an ever growing demographic and economic activities but expressed concern over its inability to pay workers’ salaries.

The former chairman of the council, Patrick Aguinede, was removed from office on account of an alleged gross mismanagement of public funds.

Meanwhile, Naija News had reported that Senator Ali Ndume (APC-Borno South) has said activities of Boko Haram insurgency will continue in the North-east unless challenges confronting the military are addressed.

Ndume, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, made this known while speaking with The Punch on Wednesday.
