Roma Offer €17 million For Smalling

Italian club, Roma has made a new €17 million offer to sign Manchester United defender, Chris Smalling on a permanent basis.

Smalling is currently on a season-long loan with the Italian Seria A giants and seems to have impressed enough for a serious bid to be lodged with his parent club.

Some reports have it that Roma has been in negotiations with United over the possible transfer of Smalling during the current January window but no deal has been agreed yet between the parties.

Roma has now made an improved €17 million offer to United for the permanent signing of Smalling according to Calciomercato. com.

The offer is close to the €20 million valuation for Smalling by United and representatives of the Italian club are said to be confident of a deal as they have already paid €3 million for the loan fee of the player.

Smalling has played 16 matches across all competitions for Roma, scored two goals and provided one assist since his loan move to Italy.
