In a bid to end clashes between farmers and herdsmen, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has directed all its members to end night grazing nationwide.

This was made known after its Annual General Meeting in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, National Secretary of the association, Baba Uthman, said the measures are to curb clashes with farmers.

He said the decision will become an instruction that will be communicated to all members including those at the grassroots.

Uthman said: “This is a decision that has been taken by the highest decision making body of the association. As it is taken here, it will go down the ladder down to our members at the grassroots.

“They will be informed and sensitized concerning it.”

According to the MACBAN scribe, a ban has also been placed on grazing by minors and hawking of milk by teenage girls.

He said these are the causes of cultural abuse and poses dangers to the underage.
