Revealed! 596 Dead Workers Are Still On Bauchi Payroll – Panel

Naija News reported a few months ago that Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed disclosed that up to 20 per cent of teachers on the state’s payroll are ghost workers.

A report observed by Naija News on Punch Metro today claims that a government panel in Bauchi has revealed that about 596 dead workers are still on Bauchi state government’s payroll obtaining salaries and allowances for a number of years.

However, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has set up a 17-member panel to unravel the circumstances surrounding the situation.

In a press conference which took place on Monday in the state, the panel’s Chairman, Adamu Gumba, briefed journalists on the outcome of its screening exercise on the matter.
