Nigerian Police: Over 100 Officers Killed In The Line Of Duty In 2019

A Daily Trust report has revealed that 101 police officers and men were killed by gunmen while carrying out their duties in 2019.

The newspaper platform noted that from January to December apart from officers that died of natural causes, 101 police officers were killed by armed robbers, kidnappers, bandits and other criminals.

It further stated that the police personnel were killed due to poor or substandard training and lack of equipment for the police officers to carry out their duties with ease.

Daily Trust noted that this made it hard for them to protect Nigeria that has over 200 million citizens.

The report has stirred reactions on social media platforms has some condemned the poor facilities provided for the police officers and other security operatives who sacrifice their lives to keep the nation safe.
