English Language Saga: NYSC Corp Member Disgraces Self In An Interview

A currently serving National Youth Service Corp member has been exposed in a now-viral video with the hashtag #NationalDisgrace.

It was such a horrible situation as the corp member could not make even a simple sentence, nor even respond positively and correctly to the question been asked during the interview.

It is quite reasonable when a Nigerian or an African man speaks in the English Language and his ascent reveals his nativity. But it is unfortunate for a University graduate who goes through Nursery & Primary, attended Secondary school and still graduate from the university and not able to construct a simple sentence in the English Language.

One would wonder how such graduated from the University. How he came this far parading himself in the NYSC uniform as a proud graduate.

According to the Corp member in the interview, he claims that he studied “Journalist,” (Journalism) in the University. However, he did not mention the name of the University he graduated from.

Nigerian Universities must take new models to avoid graduating such blunder speaking students from any institution, steps must be taken to ensure that students are well-grounded before releasing them to the outside world to face ‘National Disgrace’.
