The Kwara State Government has demolished the family home of former Senate President Bukola Saraki in the State.

Naija News recalls that governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had earlier set up a panel to look into the ownership validity claim of the Sarakis. It concluded that the land was acquired illegally, and recommended it be demolished.

It was recalled that the building was demolished early today after security operatives dispersed protesters, including aged women within the complex.

Naija news understands that the land (Ile Arugbo) which was allegedly acquired unlawfully by Saraki’s late father, Olusola Saraki, had been used as a shelter for aged people in the state. The State Government plans to build a new state secretariat on the site in 2020.
