New Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta has named his coaching crew with Freddie Ljungberg retaining his former position as an assistant coach.

Arteta, who is a former Arsenal player, was given a three-and-a-half-year deal at the North London club.

The development means Arteta left his role as Manchester City assistant manager and replaces Freddie Ljungberg who handled the club on an interim basis after the sacking Unai Emery.

Arsenal on Tuesday announced it has appointed Ljungberg alongside Albert Stuivenberg and Steve Round.

Stuivenberg is currently Ryan Giggs’ assistant manager with Wales and will combine duties with Arsenal until after Euro 2020.

Arteta has also brought in Round, who was part of David Moyes’ backroom staff at Everton and Manchester United.

Inaki Cana Pavon comes in as goalkeeping coach from Brentford to work with Sal Bibbo.

“Along with the talented people we have in the club already they will be key people to get us back to winning ways,” Arteta told the club’s official website.
