1. Nigerians Demand Buhari’s Impeachment With #ImpeachBuhari

Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to demand President Muhammadu Buhari‘s impeachment. Naija News reports that the demand by Nigerians is in response to the impeachment of President Donald Trump of the United States by the US House of Representatives.

2. Interpol Arrests Adoke As He Arrives Abuja

Nigeria’s former attorney-general and minister of justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke has been picked up on arrival at the Abuja International Airport by Interpol officials. The development was confirmed by Mike Ozekhome, counsel to Adoke.

3. Sowore: Senate Issues Fresh Directive To Falana, DSS, Others

The Nigeria Senate on Thursday directed the Department of State Services (DSS), AGF Abubakar Malami and counsel to Omoyele Sowore, Femi Falana (SAN) to submit their testimonies. Naija News reports that others directed to submit testimonies are the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tony Ojukwu Esq, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court and the presiding Judge at the time of the court invasion, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu.

4. Buhari Govt Declares Christmas, New Year Public Holidays

The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has declared December 25th, 26th and Jan. 1, 2020 as public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations. This was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, through a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah.

5. Saraki Defended Nigeria Democracy And National Unity – Secondus

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, on Thursday, stated that the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, defended Nigeria’s democracy and national unity during while serving as the head of the 8th Assembly. The PDP chairman while celebrating Saraki on his 57th birthday stated that the former Governor of Kwara State saved the country from collapsing.

6. Yahaya Bello Dissolves Entire Kogi State Cabinet, Keeps SSG

The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on Wednesday, dissolved his cabinet. The Governor in his order said the dissolution takes immediate effect and directed all affected cabinet members to hand over to the most senior officers in their various ministries.

7. Mad Man Beheaded And Other Parts Chopped Off In Enugu State

A mad man whose age was unknown but about 32 has been reportedly beheaded and his limbs and manhood chopped off by unknown persons at the Ugwuawarawa area of Nsukka in Enugu State. The Residents of the area woke up only to discovered the disfigured body of the mad man near the Alor Uno – Enugu Ezike – Onuiyi Haven Junction in the area, a few metres away from the university.

8. Appeal Court Rules On Ex-SAN Nwobike’s Conviction

The Appeal Court sitting in Lagos State on Thursday rejected the appeal filed by a former Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Dr Joseph Nwobike against his conviction. Naija News recalls that the Lagos State High Court had convicted the former SAN in April 2018 of attempting to pervert the course of justice by inducing court registrars to ensure that his cases were assigned to his preferred judges so he could obtain favourable judgments.

9. Super Eagles, Falcons Final 2019 FIFA Ranking Revealed (Full List)

World football governing body, FIFA, has released its final ranking for 2019 with the Super Eagles of Nigeria ending the year on 31 in the World Football Ranking for the month of December. Naija News understands that the Super Eagles garnered 1,493 points, same as they had in the November ranking.

10. Popular Nollywood Actress Divorces Husband

Juliet Mgborukwe, a Nollywood actress and former SoundCity presenter has announced her divorce from husband, Chima Ojokwu. She made the development public via a post on her Instagram page, @julietinspireofficial on Thursday, Naija News reports.
