The Nigerian Army has redeployed 20 Major-Generals and 10 Brigadier-Generals in what is seen as a major shake-up in the force. Naija News reports that the Nigerian Army announced the redeployment of the top Army officials in a statement issued on Monday, December 16 by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa.

2. Boko Haram: Leah Sharibu Still Alive, Kidnapped Lecturer Reveals

President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration has been charged by a college lecturer and ten other individuals who were recently kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgency to come to their rescue. The development is coming barely 24 hours after the execution of four aid workers by Boko Haram. The aid workers who were executed by the terrorist were abducted along the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway.

3. Court Delivers Final Judgment On Gov. Ganduje’s Bribery Case

A suit filed by a Kano based lawyer Bulama Bukarti seeking an order of the court compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for allegedly receiving a kickback from a contractor, has been dismissed by a Federal High Court sitting in Kano. Naija News reports that the Federal High Court sitting in Kano, northern Nigeria, dismissed the case on Monday afternoon, December 16 for ” lack of evidence.”

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has said he cannot order the Department of State Services (DSS) to release Omoyele Sowore. The AGF was reacting to a call by the counsel to Sowore, Femi Falana (SAN), asking him to order the secret police to release the activist.
