CJN Tanko Muhammad Advocates Adjustment Of Constitution To Accommodate Sharia

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, has called for the amendment of Nigeria’s constitution to give further room for Muslim concerns and the Shari’a law. Muhammad spoke while declaring the 20th Annual Judges Conference open at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria on Wednesday.

Naija News understands the theme of the two-day conference is, ‘Documentation of Contracts in Islamic Law: Procedure, Sample Precedents and Practice’, which was organised by the Centre for Islamic Legal Studies (CILS) of the ABU in collaboration with National Judicial Institute (NJI), Abuja.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Tables Fresh Request Before Buhari Govt

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on the Nigerian Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to release Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement immediately and to cease its “persecution of journalists who report the truth.”

Naija News reports that Kanu made this statement in a series of tweets, days after he held a live broadcast on Radio Biafra where he spoke on the maltreatment of Sowore by officials of the DSS and the abuse of human rights in Nigeria.
