#ASUUStrikeUpdate: See Universities That Have Voted To Suspend Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has threatened to embark on nationwide strike action over the government’s stand on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

The strike notice was issued by the ASUU national president, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, on Wednesday after a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, held at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. Naija News recalls the federal government and ASUU have been at loggerheads over the implementation of IPPIS.

The government is insisting the lecturers must sign up on the IPPIS while the ASUU members on their part have rejected government position, insisting their members will not sign up on the IPPIS platform.

Meanwhile, the new threat by the academic community has generated several reactions from people on twitter.
