The Kogi State Police Command has finally paraded the six suspects that allegedly burnt the Peoples Democratic Party women leader, Salome Abuh, to death.
Recall that shortly after the results of the governorship election in the state was announced, Mrs Abuh was burnt in her house located at Ochadamu, Kogi State.
After much outcry for justice, the suspect which were paraded were, Ocholi Edicha, Adamu Haruna, Onu Egbunu, Musa Alidu, Attai Haruna and Attah Ejeh.
The commissioner of police in the state, Hakeem Busari, while parading the suspects said Edicha who is 30-year-old confessed that he led the gang that burnt the PDP women leader alive.
“The suspects further confessed that they were responsible for the series of armed robbery incidents in Ochadamu and its environs,” he added.
The CP stated that the suspects will not go unpunished as efforts are still ongoing to get other members of the gang.
Edicha while speaking with newsmen stated that they had issues with the woman before the November 16 election.
The gang leader, however, noted that he is a supporter of the ruling party, but distanced himself from the death of Mrs Abuh.
Meanwhile, the five other suspects paraded by the command exonerated themselves from the killing.
According to them, they were petty thieves who are known for robbing the neighborhood of their belongings. This was also confirmed by the prime suspects Edicha, who said “I don’t know these people they are parading”.
