Adamawa: Gov. Fintiri Ban LG Chairmen From Travelling

Adamawa state governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has cautioned local government Chairmen in the state from unnecessary trips saying that his administration “will not condone such habit whereby a chairman will abandon his official’s duties with no reason.”

Fintiri charged the newly inaugurated chairmen to provide dividends of democracy to their people and banned them from unnecessary travelling out of their respective local governments except if necessary.

The governor warned them to stay in their respective local governments and faced governance and stop engaging themselves on necessary issues that will not add value to the people, saying that his administration is committed to fulfilling all its promises to the people hence the need for them to key in into the administration 11 points agenda.

’ You should all avoid on necessary travelling and this government will not condone such habit whereby a chairman will abandon his official’s duties with no reason,” he said.

Fintiri further warned them against corruption and embezzlement of public funds and ask them, to be honest, fair and just to all manners of people and carry everyone along in the process of governance.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated chairmen, the chairman of Michika local government, Micheal Shehu, thank the governor, the PDP and the people of the state for giving them this opportunity to serve.

According to him, they will discharge their duties honestly and fairly with fear of God and delivered dividends of democracy to their people at the grassroots, assuring that they will not disappoint the electorates.

Naija News recalls that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all the 21 local government chairmanship seats with the oppositions alleging irregularities in the last Saturday’s local government areas polls.
