Ten Killed On The Lokoja-Abuja Highway

Men suspected to be armed robbers yesterday killed about 10 people in an attack on the Lokoja-Abuja highway.

It was gathered that the robbers attacked the passengers who were traveling along the highway, in the evening.

According to an eye witness (name withheld), several vehicles ran into an ambush laid by the robbers who also killed some passengers.

Naija News learnt that the incident threw the residents of the communities into panic as they attacked after, Gada Biyu, before Kweita, a community close to Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The eyewitness account had it that a team of military men who ran to the scene took the victims to the hospital.

The eyewitness report could not give the exact number of casualties.

Attempts to confirm the incident from the Kogi State Police Command and the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) proved abortive as at press time.
