2023: Gbajabiamila Wins Election, Returns To The House For 5th Term

The Federal House of Representatives on Thursday passed the 2020 Appropriation Bill, raising the total estimates from the proposed N10.33tn to N10.6tn.

This is following the consideration and unanimous adoption of the report by the House Committee on Appropriations on the bill.

The bill was also considered and passed for third reading at the plenary on Thursday.

Naija News recalls that the House Committee on Finance had proposed the new figure when it laid its report on the 2020 budget at plenary on Wednesday.

The House committee also recommended a total budget sum of N10,594,362,364,830.

The House asked that the national budget run from January 1, 2020, bringing Nigeria back to a January-December budget cycle.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on October 8, 2019, presented the appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.
