Adamawa Police Command Nab 319 Criminals Arrested In Six Months

No fewer than 319 notorious suspected criminals were arrested by police in various parts of Adamawa state in the last six months, the police commissioner Audu Madaki has said.

The suspects include 106 kidnappers, 115 armed robbers/ Shila boys, 61 homicide, and 37 rape suspects.

Parading some of the suspects on Tuesday, Madaki said already 91 kidnap suspects were charged to court while 15 under investigation.

‘’The command has put in place a giant stride that yielded a positive result and tremendous achievement.

‘’These initiatives of day and night convoy patrol started sometimes in July 2019, the period under review, suspected criminals who committed various offences including kidnapping, armed robbery/Shila, rape, culpable homicide, and cattle rustling among others were arrested, investigated and prosecuted.

‘’The investigation carried out by the command had led to the recovery of so many exhibits such as six AK 47 rifles, double/single barrel guns, locally made guns, cars, tricycles/motorcycles among others.

‘’The command anti-kidnapped unit and state intelligence Bureau (SIB) in separate operations tracked and apprehended kidnappers who masterminded the kidnapping of prominent businessmen, senior civil servants and innocent citizens both within and outside the state and freed so many innocent victims from the hands of the kidnappers and recovered a lot of exhibits,’’ said he.

Adamawa had in the recent time witnessed an upsurge in the cases of kidnapping and armed robbery a situation forced residents to sleep with two eyes opened.
