1. APC’s Smart Adeyemi Sends Dino Melaye Out Of Senate

Smart Adeyemi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has sent Senator Dino Melaye out of the Nigerian Senate. Naija News reports that Adeyemi did this by winning the Kogi west rerun election.

2. EFCC Interrogates Air Peace Boss, Onyeama

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly quizzed the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Ifechukwu Onyeama. Naija News reports that Onyema was charged with bank fraud and money laundering for moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme involving false documents based on the purchase of aeroplanes.

3. Nobody Can Use Religion To Divide Nigeria – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Saturday, expressed confidence that it would be impossible for anybody to use religion to divide Nigeria. The minister expressed the confidence in Lagos at the Anglican Diocese of Lagos 2019 Centenary Cultural Day and Award Ceremony.

4. LASTMA Official Stoned To Death

Ola Oyesina, an officer of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, was Saturday evening stoned to death by a mob around Iganmu area of Lagos State. He was trying to decongest the area of traffic around the Iganmu-Sifax axis of Apapa.

5. Kidnappers kill 2 Policemen, Abduct 7 In Mubi

Alhaji Ahmadu Dahiru, Chairman, Transition Administration, Mubi South Local Government of Adamawa, on Saturday said suspected kidnappers had killed two police men and abducted seven people in the area. Dahiru told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Gyela that the incident occurred along Mubi – Gyela road last Tuesday.

6. Kano Govt. To Revive Community Sanitation Committees To Enforce Sanitation Laws

Kano State Government plans to revive community sanitation committees across the 44 local government areas of the state to enforce environmental sanitation laws. Chairman of the State Task Force committee on sanitation, Dr Kabir Getso, made this known on Saturday after monitoring the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the state capital.

7. Ekiti LG Polls: Seven Serving Council Chairmen Dump PDP

The camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has lost its relevance in the state as seven serving local council chairmen of the PDP defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday in Ado Ekiti. The vice-chairmen and councilors in the seven councils also defected along with their leaders.

8. Suspended Oshiomhole Should Resign – Edo APC

The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Anslem Ojezua, has insisted that the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, remains suspended. Speaking to Daily Independent, Ojezua stated that governors elected on the platform of the APC also want Oshiomhole out.

9. Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Osadare Is Dead

The Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood has lost one of its member Iyabo Osadare to breast cancer. She had been battling the disease for over 5 years, a fellow actress, Ronke Oshodioke, had taken to social media to solicit for funds to take care of Bukky in 2014 to treat her cancer.

10. EPL: Arsenal Name Freddie Ljungberg’s Assistant

English Premier League (EPL) giants Arsenal have named Academy manager Per Mertesacker as the new assistant to interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg. In a post on its Twitter handle, Arsenal stated that Mertesacker will be in the dugout at Carrow Road for Sunday’s clash with Norwich City in the EPL.
