1. APC Takes Action On Person Sponsoring 3rd Term Agenda For Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed it is taking steps against the action of a member of the party pushing a 3rd term agenda for President Muhammadu Buhari. The ruling party noted that the steps were necessary to send a clear message that President Buhari and the APC have no intention to contravene the country’s constitution by running for a third term in office.

2. LaLong Wins As Appeal Court Gives Final Judgment On Plateau Governorship Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Jos on Friday affirmed the election of Simon Lalong as the duly elected governor of Plateau State. The appellate court in its final judgment, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Senator Jeremiah Useni, challenging Lalong’s victory.

3. Mompha Granted 100m Bail

Suspected money launderer, Ismaila Mustapha, AKA Mompha, was on Friday granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos State. Mompha was granted bail in the sum of N100m, TVC reports.

4. South African Police Officer Found Guilty Of Killing Nigerian

Justice Shyam Gyanda has found twenty-four-year-old South African police constable, Austin Luciano Reynold guilty of killing a Nigerian Ebuka Okoli in Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal. Constable Reynold who shot the Nigerian man at close range during an unauthorized raid was charged of murder and three charges of robbery, the accused was found guilty on all four charges.

5. Shehu Sani Reveals Why 8th Assembly Rejected $30bn loan Request

Human rights activist, Shehu Sani, revealed why the 8th Senate led by the former senate president, Bukola Saraki rejected President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to borrow $30 billion loan. The former Kaduna Central Senator noted that the President’s request was rejected to save Nigeria from sinking.

6. Rome Returns Holy Relic Of Jesus’ Crib Back To Bethlehem

Wooden relics said to be from the manger that held the infant Jesus has been returned from Rome to Bethlehem. Bethlehem’s mayor, Anton Salman, revealed that the relics were taken from Bethlehem around 1,000 years ago, and are now likely to be placed inside Saint Catherine’s Church, adjacent to the Church of the Nativity in Manger Square, the reputed site of Jesus’s birth.

7. Buhari Speaks On Oil Earning Taking Care Of The Country’s Needs

President Muhammadu Buhari has said although Nigeria is rich in petroleum resources, its oil earning isn’t enough to take care of the country’s needs. Buhari spoke through the presidential spokesman yesterday when he received Carlos Trejo Sosa, an outgoing Cuban ambassador to Nigeria, at the presidential villa in Abuja.

8. PDP Attacks INEC Over Comment On Card Reader

The Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s statement on card readers have confirmed the party’s position that the Kogi and Bayelsa state governorship elections and the Kogi West Senatorial election, were all manipulated. The electoral body in a statement through its National Commission and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Festus Okoye, had claimed that the smart card reader had lost.

English Premier League side, Arsenal, have parted ways with its head coach, Unai Emery and his coaching team after the Gunners lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League match on Thursday. The North London side was defeated 2-1 in their group game in the Europa League on Thursday at the Emirate.
