Lalong Wins As Appeal Court Gives Final Judgment On Plateau Governorship Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Jos on Friday, affirmed the election of Simon Lalong as the duly elected governor of Plateau State.

The appellate court in its final judgment, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Senator Jeremiah Useni, challenging Lalong’s victory.

Earlier, the Plateau State governorship election petition tribunal led by Justice Halima Salami, had ruled that the petitioner could not adequately prove its case.

It added that the petitioners failed to prove their allegation of electoral irregularities bordering on falsifications of results and over voting against Lalong and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
