Ortom Floors Jime At The Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday, gave its final ruling on the result of the March 9 governorship election in Benue State.

It will be recalled that Emmanuel Jime, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the election is challenging the victory of Governor Samuel Ortom at the polls.

Ortom contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In its ruling on Thursday, the Appeal Court affirmed the victory of Ortom at the polls as the duly elected governor of Benue State.

The appellate court in a unanimous judgement, dismissed the appeal filed by Jime for lacking in merit and also resolved all the issues against the appellants.

It also awarded N150,000 cost against the APC candidate.
