Mompha Sues EFCC

The news of the human rights suit filed by Mompha against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has generated a lot of buzz on the social media space.

Instagram celebrity, Mompha, whose real name is Ismaila Mustapha was arrested by the EFCC in October for alleged internet fraud and money-laundering, Naija News recalls.

He was arrested on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on his way to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, following series of intelligence reports received by the Commission and has remained in custody since then.

However, as earlier reported by this online medium, Mompha on Thursday, slammed a fundamental human rights enforcement suit against the EFCC for detaining him beyond the constitutionally stipulated days.
