1. President Buhari Returns To Nigeria After Private Visit To UK

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday evening returned back to Nigeria after his private visit to the United Kingdom.

Naija News reports that President Buhari was scheduled to return to the country tomorrow, November 16th.

2. Governor Makinde Attacked In Lokoja Hotel By Armed Masked Men

Masked men, armed with sophisticated weapons on Friday, broke into a hotel in Lokoja, Kogi State where Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state is lodged.

The armed men, wearing police uniforms reportedly arrived at the hotel where Governor Makinde and some other PDP leaders are lodged around 12.50pm.

3. Bayelsa: Appeal Court Orders INEC To Retain APC, David Lyon On Ballot

The Independent National Electoral Commission has been ordered by the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt not to remove the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, David Lyon, from the ballot.

This will also allow APC and its candidate contest in the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has explained its continued detention of Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and Omoyele Sowore.

Nigerians have condemned the security police policy of disobeying court orders and keeping notable persons undergoing trial in detention.

5. ICPC Boss Berates Nigerian Lawmakers Over Budget Padding

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has disclosed lawmakers in the 8th assembly allegedly inserted an additional N12.9 billion into the personnel cost of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

6. WAEC Releases Examination Results For Nov/Dec, Withholds Over 9000

The results of candidates who sat for the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria has been released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

This was made known by Mr Olu Adenipekun, the Head of National Office, WAEC Nigeria, today at a media conference in Lagos state.

7. Supreme Court Gives Reasons Why It Rejected Atiku’s Appeal Against Buhari

The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal which held that President Muhammadu Buhari was educationally qualified to contest the 2019 presidential election.

Naija News reported that the Supreme Court had on October 30, dismissed the case instituted by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the 2019 election victory of President Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday condemned the attack on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the party’s Governorship candidate, Musa Wada.

Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed concerns ahead of the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states scheduled for Saturday.

The ex-president who lamented the series of disturbances and reports of violence already recorded ahead of the elections, called for restraint and calm on the part of all stakeholders.

10. Okowa Floors Ogboru As Appeal Court Rules On Delta Governorship Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday affirmed the victory of Ifeanyi Okowa as the duly elected governor of Delta State.

The appellate court in its ruling, dismissed the suit filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate Great Ogboru against Okowa’s victory.
