APC Chairman Oshiomhole Explodes As Supreme Court Sacks Bayelsa Governor-Elect, David Lyon

The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the suspension of its chairman, Anselm Ojezua, by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

Naija News recalls that the NWC of the APC had asked the Edo State chairman of the party to take a break from his duty pending the resolution of the crises rocking the party in the state.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary stated the meeting of the NWC, which held Wednesday, at the Party’s National Secretariat received a notification of the suspension of the Edo State APC Chairman, Anslem Ojezua by eleven [11] of the sixteen [16] Members of the Edo State Working Committee (SWC).

Reacting in a statement issued by the State Assistant Secretary of the party, Anthony Ikhuenobe, the Edo APC accused the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, of being behind Ojezua suspension.

The party described the decision of the NWC as ‘biased considering the speed at which it accepted the unconstitutional attempt by some members of the state working committee to remove the state chairman of the party.

“They were sponsored and supervised by the National Chairman of APC without recourse to the state Executive Committee,” Ikhuenobe said.

“In any case, the state executive committee of the party in Edo State had met on Nov. 12 and passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Chairman, Anselm Ojezua.”

The Edo State APC also accused the NWC of sponsoring the Edo Peoples Movement (EPM) to destabilise the party in the state.

Ikhuenobe called on Nigerians to disregard the purported suspension of the state chairman of APC.
