1. Adelabu Vs Seyi Makinde: Appeal Court Judgement Causes Confusion

The Court of Appeal in Ibadan on Monday left many confused after giving its ruling in the election dispute case between Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress.

The Election Petition Tribunal in Oyo State, in May this year dismissed an application filed by Adebayo Adelabu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress asking to recount votes in the March 9 election.

2. Ogun Governorship: Appeal Court Gives Final Ruling On Abiodun, Akinlade’s Fate

The appeal filed by Adekunle Akinlade against the election victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun has been dismissed on Monday by the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State.

It will be recalled that Akinlade contested the March 9 Ogun State governorship election on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) while Abiodun ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

3. Balarabe Speaks On What Will Happen If Nigeria Eventually Splits

A former Governor of Kaduna State, Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, has stated that If Nigeria should break up, this would not end the numerous problems being faced by the country.

He noted that the region would suffer from the same problems it is trying to escape.

4.  Ex-Petroleum Minister Tam David-West Dies

Professor Tam David West, a former minister of Petroleum and consultant virologist, is dead.

This was made known in a statement on Monday Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu.

Adebayo Oladeji, spokesman for Samson Ayokunle, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has noted that there is no crisis between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

He, however, stated that the body is not happy about recent reports on Osinbajo.

6. SERAP Appeals To Archbishop Of Canterbury Over Continuous Detention Of Sowore

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) has written an open letter to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd Justin Portal Welby over the continuous detention of the convener of #RevolutionNowMovement Omoyele Sowore inside the DSS custody.

Naija News recalls that Sowore has been held captive inside the DSS custody on seven counts charge of treasonable felony, fraud, cyber-stalking and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.

7. Bayelsa: Gov. Dickson Speaks On Rift With Goodluck Jonathan

The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has spoken on the reported disagreement between him and the former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Dickson in his reaction accused political jobbers of making misleading comments and misrepresenting his actions with Jonathan over the choice of the PDP governorship candidate.

9. Kogi Guber: Dankwambo Mocks APC For Fielding Bello As Its Candidate

Ibrahim Dankwambo, a former governor of Gombe State has mocked the ruling All Progressives Congress, ahead of the governorship election in Kogi State.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s chieftain condemned the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, over his inability to pay salaries of workers in the state.

10. Kogi Guber: SDP Secretariat Burnt Down In Lokoja

Reports reaching Naija News says the Kogi state secretariat of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), located in Lokoja has been burnt down.

According to the report gathered by our correspondent, unknown individuals suspected to be political thugs, stormed the SDP secretariat early Monday morning and burnt down the edifice.
