Kogi Guber: Igala Paramount Ruler Refuses To Endorse PDP's Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West at the Nigerian Senate, has alleged that 27 members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be arrested by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) ahead of the Kogi governorship election.

Naija News reports that the Kogi West lawmaker made this allegation on the micro-blogging site on Monday, November 11.

Senator Melaye alleged that the Speaker of the Kogi State Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, submitted 27 names of PDP members in Kabba/Bunu to the Police for arrest.

The PDP lawmaker listed the names of those penciled down for arrest by the Police to include Abiola Okuta, Peter Akefe, Segun ogbonikan, Tope Banigoro, Ojo Oshoko, Solomon Owope, AMUPITAN amongst others.

Senator Melaye tweeted: “Speaker Kolawole has Submitted 27 names of PDP members in Kabba/Bunu to the Police for arrest. Names include Abiola Okuta, Peter Akefe, Segun ogbonikan, Tope Banigoro, Ojo Oshoko, Solomon Owope, AMUPITAN and 20 others. Taofik Isah is submitting that of Ijumu soon,” the tweet added.

Meanwhile, the allegation of the senator is coming a day after he claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) held a leadership meeting and that the resolution of the meeting is to arrest PDP leaders across the Kogi West Senatorial District.

This online news platform understands that the PDP lawmaker claimed that the APC is allegedly taking this step because “it is obvious that they cannot win” the Kogi West Senatorial Rerun election.

Senator Melaye called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, the Department of State Services (DSS) as well as the Nigerian Army not to “allow thier institutions to be used to perpetuate crime.”
