Fire Razes Kogi SDP Secretariat

Reports reaching Naija News says the Kogi state secretariat of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), located in Lokoja has been burnt down.

According to the report gathered by our correspondent, unknown individuals suspected to be political thugs, stormed the SDP secretariat early Monday morning and burnt down the edifice.

The incident is coming just about five days to the November 16 governorship election in the state.

It will be recalled as earlier reported by this online medium that the SDP secretariat was earlier attacked on Sunday.

Windows and doors of the secretariat were destroyed, while some campaign materials were destroyed and replaced with the posters of APC governorship candidate, Yahaya Bello.

The SDP had accused the ruling party of planning to attack the convoy of the governorship candidate of SDP, Natasha Akpoti and assassinate her.

Recall the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore Mrs. Natasha Akpoti of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a candidate in the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in Kogi State.

INEC had earlier disqualified Akpoti and the SDP from contesting the scheduled gubernatorial polls in the state.
