Governor Yahaya Bello Disgraced In Lokoja (Video)

A video showing the moment Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, north-central Nigeria, was disgraced by Kogi people has emerged on the social media.

Naija News understands that the Governor was disgraced on Sunday evening, November 10 in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

In the video which was shared on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, by Senator Dino Melaye, the Governor was booed by the people of Lokoja when his convoy was driving pass the Lokoja road.

The 2 minutes video clip which was sighted by Naija News, the people of Kogi could be heard chanting “Ole…. Ole… Thief… thief…” while the Governor’s convoy was passing by.

Senator Melaye, a lawmaker on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Bello’s top critic shared the video on Twitter with the caption: “This is lokoja today. Yahaya Bello booed..”

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that the incident is coming six days to the Kogi governorship election which he (Bello) is contesting.

This online news platform understands that Governor Bello is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

Although more than 15 political parties and candidates will participate in the Kogi election, Musa Wada of the PDP has been touted by political analysts as the person that might unseat Governor Bello.

The Kogi Governorship election is slated for Saturday, November 16 and will be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire.
