2023 Governorship: Full List Of States Won By APC, PDP, LP, NNPP After Supplementary Elections

The restoration of  Mrs. Natasha Akpoti of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a candidate in the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in Kogi State has been ordered by the Federal High Court in Abuja today.

Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo-Giwa gave the directive to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) while stating that the commission acted above the law by refusing to accept the party and its candidate ‎for the poll.

According to her, the commission cannot decide to disqualify any candidate in an election except they have a court backing to do so.

She ordered the Commission to put the SDP logo on the ballot papers to be used for the election.

Recall INEC had disqualified Akpoti from the Kogi governorship race over the age of her running mate which was less than the minimum requirement as required by law for such a position.

She, however, maintained her party had made a substitution before the deadline elapsed when their attention was called to the development.
