1. Senate Confirms Tsoho As Chief Judge

The Nigeria Senate has confirmed the appointment of Justice John Tsoho as the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The confirmation is following a report submitted by Senator Michael Bamidele, Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters which recommended the confirmation of Tsoho’s appointment.

2. FG Drops Corruption Charges Against Pinnick, Others

The corruption charges against the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick and four other members of the board has been withdrawn by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu discharged and acquitted Pinnick, NFF Secretary, Sunusi Mohammed; the 1st Vice-President, Seyi Akinwumi; the 2nd Vice-President, Shehu Dikko and an Executive member, Yusuff Fresh, after revealing that the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice wrote to withdraw the charges filed before the court by the disbanded Special Presidential and Investigation Panel.

3. Kidnapped Wife Of Katsina Deputy Accountant General Released

The wife of Katsina State Deputy Accountant General, Sani Lawal Barkin-Kasua, Hajiya Lubabatu, has been released by kidnappers.

According to a report, she was abducted last Wednesday by gunmen who stormed her husband’s Bahrain Housing Estate in Katsina State.

4. President Buhari Appoints New Special Adviser

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr (Mrs) Sarah Omotunde Alade, as Special Adviser to the President on Finance and the Economy.

She is to be domiciled in the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning according to information made available to Naija News on Tuesday by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity.

5. Court Fixes Date To Rule On Maina’s Bail Application

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed ruling on the bail application filed by the former Chairman of defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, for November 7.

Naija News understands that Justice Abang fixed the date, after taking arguments from the defence and prosecution counsel.

6. How Buhari Is Fighting Medical Tourism – Minister

The commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to fighting medical tourism particularly by the country’s elite has been reiterated again.

Minister of state for health, Senator Olororunnimbe Mamora stated the resolve of the President to counter medical tourism.

7. Fire Breaks Out At Popular Balogun Market In Lagos

Naija News has obtained reports that a raging fire has broken out on Tuesday at a section of the popular Balogun market in Lagos State.

Men of the fire service battled for several hours to put out the fire in the affected part of the market.

8. Saudi Arabia, Qatar Behind Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has accused Saudi Arabia and Qatar of sponsoring Boko Haram insurgents and Fulani militias.

Boko Haram, a terrorist group has for long terrorized Nigerians and is responsible for killings in mostly Northern part of the country.

9. Senate Confirms Justice Kanyip As President NIC

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Justice Benedict Bakwaph Kanyip as President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.

Naija News understands that Kanyip’s appointment became necessary as a result of the retirement of Justice Babatunde Adejumo after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 65 years as provided by Section 291(2) of the 1999 Constitution.

10. Kogi Guber: Musa Wada Vows To Probe Gov. Bello If Voted

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, Musa Wada, has promised to probe the four years administration of the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, if elected on November 16.

Wada while speaking with party members in Lokoja, the state capital, stated that Bello’s administration would be probed for its actions.
