Some days after the outcry by several Nigerians on the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Amendment Bill signed into law in London, President Muhammadu Buhari has allegedly taken another shocking action on the office of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Naija News learnt from a report monitored on Daily Nigerian that the President who is in the UK for a private visit sacked 35 aides working in the office of Vice-President.

Confirming the development from senior presidency sources, the source revealed that Osinbajo is hoping that President Buhari will change his mind. He also said that the sackings were done by a presidential aide, not the president himself.

Among those affected are senior special assistants, special assistants, personal assistants, technical assistants, and some whose appointments were approved in August. Credible sources who preferred anonymity also said the aides may be formally issued their sack letters today.

The source also said that prior to the dismissal of the aides, none of them were queried or indicted for any wrongdoing as it is not about cutting cost, because no aide was sacked in the president’s office nor the office of the First Lady.

Naija News understands that the development comes amid speculations of a frosty relationship between the number one and two citizens since the president’s second tenure.

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters Senator Babajide Omoworare has recently debunked reports of a misunderstanding between the Office of the President and the Vice President.
