English Premier League side Arsenal have sacked eight members of staff as part of an extensive overhaul.

According to Daily Mail, among those sacked include head of youth scouting, Steve Morrow.

Morrow represented the Gunners as a player from 1988 to 1997.

Other staff members who are believed to have been axed include Kevin Beadell, Dan Rice and Dave Lee, who each held recruitment positions at the Emirates.

Naija News reports that Arsenal have reportedly identified Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta as the perfect candidates to replace underfire manager, Unai Emery.

Emery has overseen a miserable start to the 2019/2020 Premier League season, with the Gunners already six points off Champions League spots.

Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at the Emirate to Wolves on Saturday, with pressure mounting on Unai Emery.

The Gunners were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, as they let a two-goal lead slip to draw 5-5 with a youthful Liverpool side before losing on penalties.

The Arsenal manager has only been able to guide his players to two victories in nine outings, continuing the disastrous form they ended last season.
