Buy Weapons To Defend Yourselves - Gov Ortom Tells Benue Residents Again

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has called on the State Police Command to apprehend and prosecute killers of Patrick Kumbul, the Head of ICT Unit at Harvest FM Makurdi.

Naija News recalls that unknown gunmen had assassinated Kumbul and one Shongo Wuester.

Confirming the killing, the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Sewuese Anene, said that the victims were killed on Saturday night.

Speaking to NAN on Sunday, he disclosed that the victims were killed along Amokachi Lane, Low Level Makurdi.

Anene added that their bodies had already been deposited at the mortuary while the police have begun an investigation.

Reacting in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, Governor Ortom described the killing as unacceptable.

He called on neighbouring towns to provide information that would be useful in the arrest of the perpetrators.

Ortom also sympathized with the entire Kumbul family, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Harvest FM staff in particular over the painful loss.
