Tinubu: Fani-Kayode Takes Personal Decision On APC's Muslim-Muslim Ticket Bid

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the closure of Nigeria’s border with neighbouring countries to January 31, 2020.

The Deputy Comptroller of Customs in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspectorate, Victor Dimka, disclosed this in a memo to Sector Coordinators.

The memo said that despite the overwhelming success of the operation, particularly the security and economic benefits to Nigeria, a few strategic objectives are yet to be achieved.

However, reacting to the closure of Nigeria’s southern borders until the end of January, Nigeria’s Former Minister for  Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani Kayode has berated the process as the calls it the biggest con in a decade.

“The closure of Nigeria’s southern boarders until the end of January is the biggest con in the last 10 years. It presents a very real economic challenge to our neighbouring counries, it is ill-motivated, it is ill-conceived and there is far more to it than meets the eye,” he said on Monday.
