1. President Buhari Arrives Mecca For Umrah

President Muhammadu Buhari who travelled to Saudi Arabia on Monday arrived Mecca on Thursday at the end of the three-day Future Investment Initiative which took place in Riyadh.

President Buhari was received by His Royal Highness Prince Bader bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy-Governor of Mecca Region and other government officials at the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, at about 7.05 p. (local time).

2. Buhari Has Not Travelled Up To Obasanjo – Oshiomhole Says

National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has declared that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo travelled more than President Muhammadu Buhari during his time as Nigeria’s president.

Oshiomhole made the submission in an attempt to defend President Buhari’s many foreign trips since he was elected as Nigeria’s leader in 2015.

3. EFCC Invites Foreign Auctioneers To Sell Diezani’s N14.4bn Jewelry

‘Internationally certified’ auctioneers have been contacted overseas by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to auction off the $40 million (about N14.4 billion) jewelry, recovered from a former Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Naija News reports that this was revealed by the acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu.

4. Biafra: IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu Gives Condition For Return To Nigeria

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has given condition for his return to Nigeria to continue facing trial.

The IPOB leader said he was ready to return and face trial if the court could guarantee his safety.

5. Sagay vs Oshiomhole: APC Chairman Speaks On Leadership Style

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has vowed not to publicly respond to allegations levelled against him by Prof. Itse Sagay.

Naija News recalls that Sagay, the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), had said the aggression and approach of Oshiomhole will make the party lose control of some states.

6. Insurgency: FG Lifts Suspension On Two NGOs In The Northeast

President Muhammadu Buhari led government has finally agreed to lift the suspension placed on two international humanitarian organizations (NGOs) in the Northeast.

Naija News recalls that the two humanitarian NGOs, Action Against Hunger and Mercy Corps, were banned by the “Operation Lafiya Dole” Theatre Command of the Nigerian Army on September 19 and September 24, respectively, on the allegation that they were supplying food, fuel and medicine to Boko Haram insurgents.

7. Kogi Election: INEC Reveals What Will Happen To Yahaya Bello Over Double Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed its position on the double registration allegation levelled against Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Naija News recalls Natasha Akpoti, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), had asked a federal high court in Abuja to disqualify the governor from seeking re-election in Kogi State over the issue of double registration as a voter.

8. Atiku Vs Buhari: Fani-Kayode Reacts To Supreme Court’s Ruling

The Minister of Aviation under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court which affirmed the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode in his reaction said though President Buhari won at the apex court, he lost in the Supreme Court of God.

9. Bayelsa Guber: INEC Won’t Transmit Election Results Electronically – REC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Wednesday, noted that it will transmit the governorship election results in Bayelsa State.

Mr Monday Udoh, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of the state, stated this while responding to questions during a press conference in Yenagoa, the state capital.

10. Residents Flee As Another Petrol Tanker Falls In Onitsha

Another major tragedy was averted on Thursday after a tanker loaded with Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, fell into a ditch along Onitsha/Enugu expressway by Chipex Filling station, Onitsha, spilling its content.

As at the time of filing this report, no fire outbreak was reported from the fallen petrol tanker but a source said residents within the vicinity were running from the place over fears of a fire outbreak.
