Brexit Deadlock: British MPs Approve December 12 Election

The UK MPs have approved to go to the polls on December 12 after MPs backed Boris Johnson’s call for an election following months of Brexit deadlock.

Naija News understand Boris Johnson won votes to secure snap poll at the fourth time of asking by a margin of 438 votes to 20 as the House of Commons approved legislation paving the way for the first December election since 1923.

The pre-Christmas vote might expose the vulnerability of johnson’s minority Conservative government, as he had nowhere left to turn after MPs rejected the Brexit terms he struck with Brussels less than two weeks ago.

Although His Conservatives are currently well ahead of the opposition Labour party in opinion polls, and he hopes to win a majority in the Lower House of Commons in order to push through his Brexit plan.
