The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday was dealt a double blow on as the Court of Appeal in Sokoto State sacked two federal lawmakers elected on its platform.

The Court sacked Senator representing Sokoto South, Abubakar Tambuwal and the House of Rep member representing Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency, Aliyu Shehu.

It also ruled that the sacked candidates be replaced by Ibrahim Danbaba for Senate and Balarabe Kakale for House of Representatives – both of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Earlier, the Election Petitions Tribunal had upheld the elections of Senator Tambuwal and House of Representatives member Aliyu Shehu but the PDP candidates approached the appeal court against the tribunal’s judgement.
